A 2020 Olympic Post Stamp
NL: Kunstenaar An Onghena creëert een nieuwe postzegel voor het eeuwfeest van de Olympiade. Een metalen sculptuur buiten aan bib Kielpark toont deze postzegel op groot formaat. Bewoners kunnen hun overwinningen op een postkaart met de nieuwe postzegel verzenden.

Poststamp - Sculpture
Het metalen kunstwerk is gebaseerd op één van de postzegels die in 1920 uitgebracht werd, ter ere van de Olympische Spelen, die toen op het Kiel plaatsvonden. In een jarenlange traditie ontwikkelden deelnemende landen postzegels om de spelers van de eigen natie aan te moedigen. Op deze manier krijgt het eeuwfeest van 2020 nu ook z'n eigen postzegel. De kleuren van de sculptuur zijn op hun beurt gekozen op basis van de affiche uit 1920.
Het werk is te bezichtigen op het graspleintje voor de bibliotheek van het Kiel. Wees welkom om in alle veiligheid de sculptuur te bekijken. Ondanks de huidige maatregelen is het fijn dat er in de openbare ruimte nog nieuwe kunstwerken ontdekt kunnen worden.
Poststamp - Mailart Project
Naast het sculpturale werk wordt de postzegel ook effectief als verzendmiddel uitgebracht voor een mailart project. An Onghena nodigt buurtbewoners en andere fans van het project uit om deel te nemen aan het project. Met een Gele Briefkaart worden de deelnemers uitgenodigd hun grootste prestatie te delen. Nadien worden alle ontvangen briefkaarten getoond in het ontmoetingscentrum Nova en uitgebracht in een publicatie. Post stamp - Sculpture
The metal artwork is based on one of the stamps released in 1920, in honor of the Olympic Games, which took place in Kiel Antwerp. In a long tradition, participating countries developed stamps to encourage the players of their own nation. In this way, the centenary of 2020 now also gets its own stamp. The colors of the sculpture are chosen on the basis of the 1920 poster.
The work can be viewed at the grass park in front of the library at Kiel. You are welcome to view the sculpture in complete safety. Despite the current measures, it is nice that new works of art can still be discovered in the public space.
Post stamp - Mailart Project
In addition to the sculptural work, the stamp is also effectively released as a means of sending. An Onghena invites local residents and other fans of the project to participate in the project. With a Yellow Postcard the participants are invited to share their greatest achievement. Afterwards, all postcards received will be shown in Nova and published in a publication.
